Removing Rear Lid Release (With Rear Window Washer Wiper)

  1. Remove release switch.
    1. 1.1. Stick adhesive tape -1-  all around the release switch -2-  and on the rear window trim -3-  .
    2. 1.2. Insert a plastic wedge in between the release switch and cover plate at the outer edge of the release switch as shown -arrow A-  and lever the release switch off the contact plate -arrow B-  .
    3. 1.3. At the rear window trim -3-  , remove adhesive tape -1-  applied earlier.

    5. 1.4. Use a screwdriver to prise the electrics -1-  in the release switch -2-  out of the housing -arrows A-  and dispose of it -arrow B-  .

      An optimized contact plate is used on all vehicles as of production date December 2013. The electrics in the housing is no longer needed as a result of this change.

  2. Remove contact plate.
    1. 2.1. Release electric plug connection on the inside of the rear lid -a-  and disconnect it -A-  .

    3. 2.2. Carefully press sealing grommet -1-  through by prising it outwards using a screwdriver -arrows-  .

    4. 2.3. Guide wire harness out of the rear lid and remove contact plate.
