Preliminary Work

WARNING: Working on the vehicle electrical system
  • Risk of burns
  • Risk of short circuit or fire.

→ Disconnect the battery.

→ Prevent battery from reconnecting.

→ Cover the battery.

→ Remove ground terminal and cover the terminals.

→ Route electric lines without tensile strength.

→ Secure electric lines to existing lines/components.

  1. The battery ground lead must be disconnected before starting disassembly work. → 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY
  2. Remove wiper arms. → REMOVING WIPER ARM
  3. Remove cowl panel cover in the plenum panel area. → REMOVING COWL PANEL COVER
  4. Remove plenum panel cover. → REMOVING PLENUM PANEL COVER
  5. Remove cross panel. → REMOVING CROSS PANEL
  6. Remove engine cover (design cover). → REMOVING ENGINE COVER (DESIGN COVER)
  7. Remove oil mist separator. → REMOVING OIL MIST SEPARATOR
  8. Loosen intake manifold on throttle housing. → REMOVING AIR BOX FOR THROTTLE HOUSING (Y-SHAPED PIPE AHEAD OF THROTTLE VALVE)
  9. Remove intake-air distributor. → REMOVING INTAKE-AIR DISTRIBUTOR
  10. Remove fuel distributor pipe. → REMOVING FUEL DISTRIBUTOR PIPE
