General Procedure
- Clean the surface to be treated to obtain good light reflection.
- Mark dent using the wax chalk.
- Assess accessibility to the dent.
- Look for the best access, even if this is difficult for some areas.
- Removing body parts in accordance with the service information . When doing so, always be careful with safety-critical components, such as airbags, seat-belt tensioners, electronic components, cables, etc.
- Locate dent using locating lamp and find the tool tip on the metal panel.
- Work by the clock method described below.
- Work calmly and patiently.
- When working on bumps or bulges, it is much better to tap the metal gently and repeatedly rather than using one heavy strike.
- When using knife tools and cutter tools, proceed with care as these tools can easily cause the panel to buckle.
- Sand down rough areas and high points with a sanding block (P2000 - 4000) and then polish them.
- After removing the dent, seal the area of the repair with wax or cavity protection.
