- Clean area of damage
- 1.1. Use a dry cloth (without any window cleaner) to clean the windscreen around the area of damage, but do not wipe across the area of impact itself.
- 1.2. Remove loose splinters of glass out of the chipped area using the hard metal stylus, but do not enlarge the impact crater unnecessarily. → Exposing stone chip
Please note: The more glass that is missing from the chipped surface, the more obvious the blemish after repairs.
- Secure the mirror
Apply gel to the suckers of the inspection mirror and attach the mirror to the inside of the windscreen so that the procedure can be monitored from outside. → Securing mirror
- Drill out hole
If necessary, use a drill to mill glass splinters and dirt out of the impact hole to a depth of approx. 1 mm.
Please note: Always hold the drill firmly with both hands! This is the only way to ensure the drill is positioned securely.
- Secure the bridge
- 4.1. Rub gel into the sucker on the bridge. This allows the tool to be repositioned after it has been secured in place.
- 4.2. Press bridge -1- firmly onto the windscreen so that the threaded hole is directly above the point of impact.
- 4.3. Stick bridge firmly onto windscreen by operating the vacuum pump until the red mark -2-
is no longer visible.
Please note: The bridge must remain firmly seated on the windscreen for the duration of the repair work. Operate the pump again if the red mark becomes visible.
- 4.4. Align bridge directly over the point of impact with respect to the windscreen and secure it in place using the central screw -3- .
- 4.5. Adjust bridge so that it is parallel to the windscreen using the screws at the rear -4- .
