Installing Wiper Arm
Information
To counteract the deformation of the wiper rubber that occurs when it is at rest, the wiper arm is alternately moved to two different parked positions. However, the wiper arm may only be removed and installed in the lower parked position. Before removing or installing the wiper arm, operate the wiper once and watch whether the wiper is moved up again slightly into the upper parked position after it has reached the lower parked position. In this case, operate the wiper again so that the wiper arm is moved into the lower parked position.
Information
If the bonnet is in the service position, there is a risk that the wiper arm will collide on the passenger's side. Close the bonnet, therefore, before removing and installing the wiper arm.
