Preparing Front Side Member For Installation

1. 1.1. Apply vertical markings to the inside and outside of the side member -X-  . → Distance: 15 mm

   Information 

   • To mark the installation position, insert the new part into the side member and mark the center of the chambers on the side member with horizontal lines  .
2. 1.2. Also mark the center of the chambers on the side member.

Information 

• The bores in the chambers must be centered. If punch rivets are in the way, place the bore at a slightly offset position with respect to the punch rivets  .

1. 3.1. Position bores as shown.

2. 3.2. Drill all bores through the sub-part and side member using a 4.7-mm drill bit.
3. 3.3. Remove sub-part.
4. 3.4. Drill bores on the side member using an 8-mm drill bit.
