Installing Tailgate Trim Panel

Information 

Check that all fixing clips are positioned fully and correctly.

Check that the fixing clips are not bent or broken.

Replace damaged or missing clips with new ones.

1. Install lower part of trim panel -1-  .
   1. 1.1. Position lower part of trim panel -1-  .

   2. 1.2. Check that all clips -markings-  are fitted on the relevant gap of the counterpart component.
   3. 1.3. Pull electric plug connections for the luggage compartment lights through the openings in the trim panel.
   4. 1.4. Press clips into the counterpart components until they click into place by pressing on the lower part of the trim panel -1-  .
2. The lower part of the trim panel is screwed on in reverse order to removal.
3. Tighten fastening screws for tailgate trim panel to the specified tightening torque Tightening torque 5 Nm +/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)  until secure.
4. Install trim panels for window frame at the side.
   1. 4.1. Installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
5. Install trim panel for window frame at the center.
   1. 5.1. Installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
6. Tighten fastening screw for finger plate to the specified tightening torque Tightening torque 5 Nm +/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)  until secure.
7. Install and adjust rubber stop.

   1. 7.1. Loosen clamping screw on rubber stop.
   2. 7.2. Fit rubber stop -1-  approx. 1 cm into the square opening.
   3. 7.3. Close the tailgate and then open it again.
   4. 7.4. Pull rubber stop out again by one notch. -A- 
   5. 7.5. Tighten clamping screw. -B- 
8. Close the tailgate.
