Installing High-Pressure Fuel Injector

NOTE: Dirt on injection system components
  • Material damage
  • Rough-running engine
  • Bad exhaust emissions

→ Thoroughly clean connection points and adjacent areas before loosening them. If the engine is very dirty, wash it before starting disassembly work.

→ Lay removed parts on a clean surface and cover them. Do not use fibre-shedding cloths.

→ Carefully cover components or seal them if repair work will not be carried out immediately. Place rubber caps on connections. Seal intake openings with film or adhesive tape.

→ Only install clean parts. Do not take spare parts out of the packaging until just before installation.

→ Never use compressed air when the system is open. Do not move the vehicle.

NOTE: Incorrect handling of sealing rings and covers
  • Leaks
  • Risk of damage to components

→ Use clean tools without burrs.

→ Make sure not to leave any scores or scratches when cleaning.

    Information

The combustion chamber sealing ring widens out as you slide it onto the fuel injector. It must therefore be closed in again in two steps after fitting.

  2. Place mounting cone -T 10133/5-  with the new combustion chamber sealing ring -1 -  from the repair kit onto the fuel injector -2-  .

  3. Using the assembly sleeve -T 10133/6-  , slide the combustion chamber sealing ring as far as possible onto the mounting cone -T 10133/5-  .

Turn the assembly sleeve -T 10133/6-  around and slide the combustion chamber sealing ring into the sealing ring groove.

  4. Press the calibrating nozzle -T10133/7-  with a slight rotary movement (approx. 180°) as far as it will go onto the fuel injector.

Pull the calibrating sleeve off again by turning it in the opposite direction.
