Installing Primary Catalytic Converter On Left Side

Information 

• The primary catalytic converter on the left side is installed in reverse order to removal. 
• The primary catalytic converter must be installed upwards on the manifold flange with the least possible tolerance (check the distance from the rear exhaust pipe to the tunnel bridge). 

1. Replace seal -1-  between primary catalytic converter on the left side and turbocharger. To do this, use a suitable screwdriver to remove the old seal -1-  at the cut-out (notch) -2-  on the turbocharger. Before inserting the new seal, blow out and clean the sealing face (fitting).

2. Use new clamping sleeves and move them into installation position at the same time.
3. Tighten all fastening screws and nuts to → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.) 

   and tighten the screw on the clamp to → Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)+1 Nm (+0.5 ftlb.)  .
