Removing Front Brake Calliper (17-Inch - Brake Calliper Colour: Black)

NOTE:
  • To gain better access for removal of the brake calliper, turn the steering fully either to the right or left  .

    Overview of front brake calliper (17-inch) 

  1. Loosen holder -1-  for brake line, wear indicator and speed sensor on the wheel bearing housing.

    Carefully pull contact for brake pad wear indicator out of the brake calliper and disconnect it at the holder.

    NOTE: Removal of brake calliper
    • Paint defects on brake calliper

      • → Proceed with care when setting back the brake pads.

      → Protect brake calliper from paint defects using a suitable cloth.

  2. Set the disc brake pads back slightly and uniformly using water pump pliers.
  3. Disconnect the brake line -arrow- at the brake calliper and collect brake fluid in a suitable container.

  4. Close off brake line using a suitable stopper.
    NOTE:
    • Never use an impact bolter to loosen and tighten the brake calliper on the wheel bearing housing  .
  5. Loosen fastening screws -arrows-  and remove brake calliper from the wheel carrier.
