Control unit function: Calibration

The convertible top control unit must be recalibrated after replacing the potentiometer, parts of the convertible top or after carrying out adjustment work on the convertible top.

WARNING: Serious injuries or damages could occur due to the automatic movement sequence of the convertible top during calibration!
  • Ensure that you and other individuals maintain a safe distance from the moving parts of the convertible top, convertible-top compartment lid and windows!
  • Ensure that objects are kept away from the moving areas of the convertible top, convertible-top compartment lid and windows!
NOTE:
  • Each calibration procedure is recorded by the calibration counter (Actual values menu)!
  • The person who calibrated the control unit is stored in the calibration recognition (Actual values menu)!
  • The calibration values of potentiometer 1 (convertible top) and potentiometer 2 (convertible top compartment lid) are overwritten with new values in the Calibration menu item!
  • The actuation counter 2 will be reset to 0!
  1. Using the Porsche System Tester II 9588, select the menu item Calibration.
    NOTE:
    • The convertible top can be in any position when starting calibration!
    • The procedure can be interrupted at any time using the "F8" (stop) key!
    • The procedure can be continued again using the "F7" (start) key!
    • The procedure can be completed by pressing the "BACKWORD" key!
  2. Start calibration with the "F7" key.
  3. The entire convertible top mechanism moves until the convertible top is completely open in the end position.
  4. After it has reached its final position, the following text appears: Calibration successful! Display fault memory with the "> >" key.
  5. Call up fault memory with the "FORWORD" key.
  6. End the procedure with the "BACKWORD" key.
  7. Rectify any existing faults if necessary.
