Removing Convertible Top Covering

Information 

  1. Drill out rivets -3-  on the roof frame.

  2. Drill out rivets -2-  on the outside of the convertible top covering -1-  .

  3. Remove cover -4-  .

  4. Loosen retaining strap -3-  at the sides.

    1. 4.1. Remove expansion rivet -2-  .
    2. 4.2. Pull retaining strap -3-  through to the outside.
  5. Unhook convertible top covering -1-  at the sides.

  6. Release tension rope.

    1. 6.1. Pull off adhesive tape -2-  .
    2. 6.2. Disengage tension rope -3-  (-arrow A-  ).

      Information 

      • Only required when re-using the convertible top covering. 

      The tension rope can be pulled in during installation using the cord.

      The cord remains in the removed convertible top covering.

    3. 6.3. Secure the cord -4-  to the tension rope and pull it into the duct on the convertible top.
    4. 6.4. Pull tension rope out of the duct on the convertible top -arrow B-  .
    5. 6.5. Release the cord -4-  from the tension rope -3-  .
  7. Loosen retaining strap.

    1. 7.1. Drill out rivets -3-  .
    2. 7.2. Remove retaining strap -1-  and suspended joint -2-  .
  8. Detach convertible top covering -1-  at the rear.

    1. 8.1. Unscrew screw -2-  .
    2. 8.2. Pull piping -3-  out of the tension bow.
  9. Loosen retaining frame for rear window.

    1. 9.1. Unscrew fastening screw -3-  .
    2. 9.2. Remove nut -4-  , washer -5-  and retaining strap -2-  .
    3. 9.3. Unscrew fastening screws -6 and 7-  on retaining frame for rear window.
  10. Detach convertible top covering completely and remove it.

    1. 10.1. Fold up convertible top covering at the rear and place it on the roof frame.
    2. 10.2. Detach convertible top covering at the front edge. -arrows- 
    3. 10.3. Remove convertible top covering. -arrows-
