WM 300519 Removing And Installing Clutch Pedal (Except CARRERA "Edition", CARRERA Cabriolet "Edition", Turbo, Turbo S, CARRERA 4 "Edition", Turbo CABRIO, Turbo S CABRIO, CARRERA 4 Cabriolet "Edition", Gt3, Gt3 RS): Information

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2019 Porsche 911, 2018 Porsche 911, 2017 Porsche 911, 2016 Porsche 911, and 2015 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

On the 911 Carrera (991) and Boxster (981), the clutch switch is integrated into the clutch master cylinder → Clutch master cylinder  and cannot be replaced separately. In the event of damage, replace the clutch master cylinder. There are no switches on the clutch pedal.

The integrated clutch switch performs several functions (information for cruise control and engine start enable).

The clutch switch can be checked using PIWIS Tester II by selecting Actual values/input signals in the DME system or Actual values/input signals in the EPB system.

The information displayed on PIWIS Tester II can be interpreted as follows: Clutch switch at top actuated means "clutch pedal not pressed"  (information for cruise control). Clutch switch at bottom actuated means "clutch pedal pressed"  (information for engine start enable).
