Removing Front Brake Disc

Information
- Do not open the brake hydraulic system (brake line remains connected).
- To gain better access for assembly work, it is a good idea to turn the wheels fully either to the right or left!
The description applies to 4-piston and 6-piston brake callipers.
- Before removing the brake calliper on the wheel carrier, carry out the following work:
- 1.1. Release plug connection on speed sensor and disconnect it. Remove electric line from the holder on the wheel carrier.
- 1.2. Disconnect (release and unclip) the connector for the brake pad wear indicator (on the wheel carrier holder).
- 1.3. Remove holder on wheel carrier (M6 screw).
Information
- Never use an impact bolter to loosen and tighten the brake calliper on the wheel carrier.
- Remove fastening screws on the brake calliper -arrows-
.
Place brake calliper onto a suitable base (e.g. universal lift). Use a suitable cloth as an intermediate layer to protect paintwork from damage.
When positioning the brake calliper on the base, carefully guide the brake line and brake hose!
- Remove brake disc.
- 3.1. Remove fastening screws -arrows-
and take off brake disc.
Information
- Central bolts (911 GT3): The wheel adapter pins do not have to be removed in order to remove the brake disc.
- 3.2. 911 Turbo with central bolts:
Remove five wheel adapters and remove the brake disc.
- Fastening screws (5x)
- Wheel adapter (5x)
- Brake disc
- Wheel hub
- 3.1. Remove fastening screws -arrows-
and take off brake disc.
