Installing Transmission Oil Cooler

- Install oil cooler.
- 1.1. Fit oil cooler -1-
with new sealing rings on the cooler bracket and screw in fastening screws -3-
.
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- 1.2. Fit cooler bracket with transmission oil cooler on oil pump.
- 1.3. Screw in hexagon socket head bolt between cooler bracket and oil pump.
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- 1.4. Screw in connecting screws between holder and transmission housing.
→ Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.)
- 1.1. Fit oil cooler -1-
with new sealing rings on the cooler bracket and screw in fastening screws -3-
.
- Connect coolant hose to oil cooler.
Remove special tool Hose Clamp VW 3093 from coolant hoses.
- Connect transmission oil line.
Screw transmission oil line between the transmission oil cooler and transmission onto the transmission oil cooler.
→ Tightening torque: 34 Nm (25 ft. lb.)
- Engage coolant lines for the heating supply and return lines.
Slide the coolant lines for the heating supply and return lines over the holders on the underbody panel towards the front and engage the lines in the plastic clips.
- Connect electric connections.
Route electric line and plug in electric connections.
- Install transverse strut.
→ Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ft. lb.)
