Disassembling Front Transmission Case Cover

Reverse idler gear
Needle-roller bearing
Bolt

Transmission cover

Remove gear segment, reverse idler gear and needle-roller bearing.
1. 1.1. Undo hexagon-head bolt -1- .
2. 1.2. Remove gear segment, reverse idler gear and needle-roller bearing -2, 3, 4, 5- .
Clamp transmission cover in vise.

Extract outer bearing ring for output shaft.
1. 3.1. Remove snap ring -6- using pair of pliers
2. 3.2. Attach internal puller Internal Puller Nr. 108 Pos. 6 behind outer bearing ring. Check it is correctly seated.

3. 3.3. Internal puller Screw On Internal Puller Nr. 108 Pos. 6 with counter support Counter Support Nr. 107 and extract outer bearing ring -7- by turning the nut on the counter support.
Extract cylinder-roller bearing on output shaft.
1. 4.1. Remove snap ring -8- using pair of pliers.
2. 4.2. Attach internal puller Internal Puller Nr. 108 Pos. 5 behind cylinder-roller bearing -9- . Check it is correctly seated.

3. 4.3. Screw on internal puller Internal Puller Nr. 108 Pos. 5 with counter support Counter Support Nr. 106 and extract cylinder-roller bearing -9- by turning the nut on the counter support.
Remove back-up light switch.
Unscrew back-up light switch -10- .
