Installing Rear Front-Axle Support

WARNING:
Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly
- Risk of squashing

→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
- Install anti-roll-bar mount according to the marking, along with the anti-roll bar.
The marking -IN- must be pointing to the center of the vehicle, while the marking -OUT- must be pointing to the outside of the vehicle.
- Position the anti-roll bar before tightening the fastening screws on the anti-roll-bar mount (= fastening screws for front-axle support) so that the highest point of the anti-roll bar is positioned at a distance from the frame support (not
the fold!) of -1-
.
Dimension -1- on a normal chassis is: → Control value: 93 mm
Dimension -1- on chassis with PDCC is: → Control value: 86 mm
Information
- All screws and threaded joints on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle standing on its wheels, or the wheel suspension is raised with a universal vehicle lift. Dimension -1- , from lower edge of wing to center of axle corresponds to vehicle position. The current height can be found in → 4495TW ADJUSTMENT VALUES FOR SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT . Always observe the following points!
- On vehicles with air springs, the respective air spring must be bled using the Porsche System Tester. → 4301IN BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM
- Vehicle position can be set by carefully raising the relevant wheel bearing housing.
- Use an intermediate layer (hard rubber)! Do not damage the brake cover plate.
- Screws and nuts are Geomet-coated and must not be greased.
- Grease the splines of the drive shaft slightly with aluminum paste Optimoly TA.
- Drive shafts must not be left hanging from the joint stop! Tie them up.
- The front-axle support is installed in reverse order to removal.

- 1 - Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
- 2 - Tightening torque 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) +150°
- 3 - Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
- 4 front - Tightening torque 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) +180°
- 4 back - Tightening torque 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) +90°
- 5 - Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
