Installing Cylinder Head Cover For Cylinders 5-8

Information 

The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally.

Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other assemblies (e.g. chassis, electrics, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found in the corresponding documents.

1. Replace seals for cylinder head cover. For details, see

   WM, 158055 REPLACING SEAL FOR CYLINDER HEAD COVER 

2. Guide cylinder head cover up and in at a slant -B-  and lower it towards the front -A-  .

3. Centre the cylinder head cover over the inserted bar ignition modules.
4. Fit fastening screws on the cylinder head cover in the specified sequence -1 to 13-  .

   > 9824 - Flexible-head socket wrench, a/f 8 

   > 9824/1 - Flexible-head socket wrench, a/f 10 

   > 9824/2 - Torx Micro Bit T30 

   > 9824/3 - Torx Micro Bit T45

5. Insert wiring harness holder and fit fastening screw.

6. Fit fastening screws -9- for the water tube at the cylinder head cover. Tightening tongue 4 (3 ftlb.)  Nm and Torque angle 90°

    Fit fastening screw -B-  on B+ wiring harness holder at the engine retaining eyelet.
