Adjusting tool for setting timing

  1. Both staking tools for the camshafts are required in pairs for adjusting the cam shafts. 9678/1 - Staking tool  . The tools must be used in mirror image for both cylinder heads.
  2. The staking pin 9595/1 - locating pins  is used for the staking bore between the vibration balancer and timing-case cover for setting the TDC.
  3. The assembly chain tensioner 9683/1 - auxiliary chain tensioner  is required in the V8 engine for setting the timing precisely because of the tolerances of the long timing chain. It is not suitable for the 4.5-litre engine. Lubricate the connection with a few drops of commercially available pneumatic oil (to prevent the inner piston from seizing). Operating pressure: 5.0 to 5.5 bar.
  4. Compressed air hose on the 9683/1 - auxiliary chain tensioner
