  1. If a new control unit is to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818  before removing the "old" control unit. → 944955 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT FOR FRONT-END ELECTRONICS 
  2. Remove trim panel under dashboard. → REMOVING TRIM PANEL UNDER DASHBOARD
  3. Remove temperature sensor from footwell outlet vent on the driver's side. → REMOVING TEMPERATURE SENSOR
  4. Remove front footwell outlet vent on the driver's side from the holder and set it aside. → REMOVING FRONT FOOTWELL OUTLET VENTS
