Installing Air-Spring Strut

WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly
  • Risk of squashing
  • Risk of damage to components

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

Information 

Installation is performed in reverse order.

Upper air-spring strut to body: Tightening torque 46 Nm (34 ftlb.) 

Air line to spring strut: Tightening torque 3 Nm (2 ftlb.) 

Lower air-spring strut to trailing arm: Tightening torque 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) +120° 

Drive shaft to differential: Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 ftlb.) +90° 

Conventional connecting link to air-spring strut: Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ftlb.) +90° 

PDCC connecting link to air-spring strut: Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 ftlb.) +30° 

Tie-rod ball to wheel bearing housing: Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ftlb.) 

Upper trailing arm to wheel bearing housing: Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ftlb.) 

Air guide to lower trailing arm: Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

Brake calliper to wheel bearing housing: Tightening torque 140 Nm (104 ftlb.)
