Installing Brake Shoes

  1. Brake shoes
  2. Adjustment device
  3. Compression springs
  4. Tension springs

  1. Remove tie-wrap -arrow-  on the parking brake actuator.

    Information 

    Align the entire unit in the middle.

  2. Insert brake shoes with adjustment device -1 and 2-  .
    WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components
    • Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.

    → Do not reach into the danger area.

    → Relieve the tension on components before starting work.

    → Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

    → Wear protective gloves and goggles.

    → Be very careful when working on the brake system.

  3. Engage both tension springs -4-  . → Tension springs

  4. Install compression springs -3-  .
    1. 4.1. Disconnect connector for speed sensor and use a torch to check (visual inspection) that the compression spring -arrow-  is engaged.

    2. 4.2. Plug in connector on speed sensor again.
    3. 4.3. Illuminate the cut-out behind the brake disc using a torch and check (visual inspection) that the compression spring -arrow-  is engaged.
