Removing Dashboard Support

Information

The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment.
The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant.
Some steps must be carried out automatically.
Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle.

Cover center console with protective mat.
Remove Kessy antenna on dashboard with the bracket.
Unclip air guide -1- at the air conditioner and remove it.
Unclip air guide -2- at the air conditioner and remove it.
Unclip electric line -3- at bracket for passenger's airbag unit and remove bracket -4- .
Unscrew fastening screw -5- for the right air guide at the support.

Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the support.
Unscrew fastening screws -2- and remove holder -3- .

Unscrew fastening screws -1, 2, 3- on the air conditioner.

Carry out all steps required for loosening the dashboard wire harness from the support.
Unscrew fastening screws -1- .
Unscrew fastening screw -2- .
Unscrew fastening nuts -3- .
Unscrew fastening screw -4- .

The help of another person is required for steps 15 to 18.
Press air conditioner -1- in direction of arrow -arrow- using a suitable tool and guide retaining lug -2- out of the bracket -3- .
Carefully pull support -4- forward until the support -4- is removed fully at the studs -5- .
Pad the strut -6- with foam to prevent damage to the windscreen.
Carefully lift up the support -4- and remove it.
