Installing Front Longitudinal Member (Rear Cut)
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Fit inner and outer front longitudinal member and check that they fit perfectly.
- Remove inner and outer front longitudinal member.
- Apply adhesive evenly on the marked area -A- of the body. Application depth 0.5 mm

- Apply adhesive evenly on the marked area -A- of the inner front longitudinal member. Application depth 0.5 mm

- Position inner front longitudinal member and secure it.
- Apply body foam filler to the marked area.

- Apply adhesive evenly on the marked area -A- of the inner front longitudinal member. Application depth 0.5 mm
- Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.

- Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.
- Position outer front longitudinal member and secure it.
- Resistance spot-weld front longitudinal member.
Front side member
- Apply a full steel weld to the inner front longitudinal member.
Welded seam
- Apply a full steel weld to the outer front longitudinal member
Welded seam
- Weld spring strut mount to the front longitudinal member by applying a steel plug-weld.
Spotwelds
- Weld impact absorber plate -1- to the front longitudinal member -2- by applying a steel plug-weld.
