Removing headliner
Information
- The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment.
- The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant.
- Some steps must be carried out automatically.
- Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle.
Information
Make sure that the roof cover does not buckle.
- Unscrew screws -1-
for headliner under the roof console.
- Only for vehicles with Panoramic roof
Carefully unclip headliner in the roof cut-out area on the cover strip.
- 2.1. Check fixing clips on the headliner close to the roof aperture for deformation and replace them if necessary.
- Unscrew and remove screws -2-
on bracket for luggage compartment net cover at the D-pillar.
- Loosen and unclip headliner at the rear attachment points -3- on the body.
- Fold over the rear seat backrest.
- Move the driver and passenger seat all the way forward and down.
- Move the driver and passenger seat backrest back as far as possible.
- Three people are needed in order to remove the headliner.
- 8.1. Position of first person: Driver's side
- 8.2. Position of second person: Passenger's side
- 8.3. Position of third person: Luggage compartment
- Remove headliner.
- 9.1. Lower the headliner -1- on the passenger's side down as far as possible -A- .
- 9.2. Pull the headliner -1- out towards the rear through the cut-out in the tailgate -B- .
