Removing rear wheel bearing housing
- Use puller set WE 1649 to press the drive shaft peg max. → Control value: +10 mm into the wheel hub so that the drive shaft splines are no longer engaged in the wheel hub.
- Disconnect connector -1-
from speed sensor.
- Loosen upper control arm from the wheel bearing housing.
- 3.1. Mark the position of the eccentric screw -1- with respect to the wheel bearing housing.
- 3.2. Screw off nut -4- and remove eccentric washer -3-.
- 3.3. Pull out screw -1-.
- Unscrew fastening screw -4-.
- Release locking lugs -1-
and remove stone guard -2-.
- Support wheel bearing housing.
- 6.1. Turn the wheel hub in such a way that a bore for a wheel bolt is at the top.
- 6.2. Support T10149 must be secured to the wheel hub with a wheel bolt
- 6.3. Support T10149 must now be fitted into the Transmission and Engine Jack WE 1599 .
- 6.4. Lift up the wheel bearing housing.
- Unscrew fastening screw -2-
and remove washer -1-.
- Loosen lower trailing arm on the wheel bearing housing.
- 8.1. Screw off nut -3-.
- 8.2. Unscrew screw -1- and remove spacer tube -2-.
Information
Drive shafts must not be left hanging from the joint stop! Hold the drive shaft or tie it up if necessary.
- Swivel wheel bearing housing aside and pull drive shaft out of the wheel bearing housing.
