Adjusting front door

→ Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.

→ Observe specified tightening torques.

→ Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.

Information 

Only tighten the fastening screws on the door hinges hand-tight from the inside until the doors are set correctly.

Information 

• Set gap dimensions on the lids, doors and covers, or accessories in accordance with the gap specifications  .
• Given a clearance in the openings that is too great or too small, the movable body parts or the accessories must be centred accordingly  .
• Ensure that the gaps do not run in a wedge-shaped fashion or do not narrow at local points  .
• You can use Setting gauge WE 1690 Setting gauge, 4.5 - 6.5 WE 1724 Setting gauge, 7 - 9 WE 1725 for this  .
• The given values are guidelines which should be observed as far as possible  .
• The guidelines apply to repair and assembly work  .

• The door hinge must be aligned after installing the door  .
• Loosen fastening screws for door hinge at the door and fastening screws for door hinge at the A-pillar so that the threaded connections can be moved  .

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment  .

1. Adjust front door with door hinge at the door.

   2.	Front door		Adjust gap dimensions in Y and Z direction by moving the door.
   3.	Fastening screw -1-  securing door hinge -2-  to front door	Adjustment of gap dimensions in Y and Z direction	Tighten fastening screw -1-  securing door hinge -2-  to front door to Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 ft. lb..)  .

2. Adjust front door with door hinge at the body.

   2.	Front door		Adjust gap dimensions in X and Z direction by moving the rear door.
   3.	Fastening screw securing door hinge to body on outside -2-  and inside -1-	Adjustment of gap dimensions in X and Z direction	Tighten fastening screws securing door hinge to body on outside -2-  and inside -1- Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 ft. lb..)  .

3. Adjust front door at the lock peg (striker pin).
