Removing battery
WARNING:
Static battery charge
- Battery can explode
- Electrical discharges
→ Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.
NOTE:
Using charging cables/jump leads directly on the vehicle battery.
- Risk of damage to battery sensor
→ Always connect charging cables/jump leads to the external power supply for jump-lead starting.
Information
Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.
- Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running .
- Disconnect and re-connect battery with extreme caution .
- Switch off ignition and pull remote control out of ignition lock.
- Lift carpet -1- .
- Disengage cover -2-
and fold it forward.
- Danger of short circuit when loosening the terminal clamps!
- 4.1. First open the cover on the negative terminal and disconnect terminal clamp -1- for the ground line from the battery terminal!
- 4.2. Insulate terminal clamp or route ground strap to prevent any contact with the battery terminal!
- 4.3. Open cover on the positive terminal and disconnect terminal clamp -2-
for the B+ line from the battery terminal.
- Unscrew fastening screw -1-
, remove clamp support -2-
and move it forward with a rebound strap.
- Disengage cover -1-
and remove it.
- Pull breather hose -1- off the battery -2- .
- Bend up support clips -3-
and lift the battery out. Get another person to help if necessary.
