Installing Roof Assembly For Panorama Roof

NOTE: Electrically moved components

→ Move objects out of the range of movement.

NOTE: Roof system closed/opened without initializing limit position

Risk of damage to components

→ After replacing a motor or moving the roof segments with the ignition switched off, first close the roof and initialise the limit position.

→ Never open the panoramic roof without having initialised the limit position of the motors. There is a danger that the two rear roof segments will collide.

Information

3 persons are necessary to be able to position the roof assembly when installing on vehicle.
The roof assembly will be aligned automatically using the positioning bolts attached to the roof assembly when installing.

Clean flange surfaces on the body.
Prepare roof assembly and vehicle for installation. → Preparing Roof Assembly For Panorama Roof And Vehicle For Installation
Place roof assembly -1- on roof frame and insert the positioning bolts -6- in the roof frame.

Screw in fastening nuts -5- and tighten in the sequence shown -a to c- and -d to h- to the specified tightening torque. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.3 ftlb.)

Connect electric plug connection for vehicle wire harness -4- to the roof assembly control unit until it engages securely.

Connect water drain hoses -2- and -3- .
