Subsequent Work

Gap dimensions of tailpipe 

NOTE: Tailpipe not fitted correctly
  • Components can heat up

→ Observe exact gap dimensions.

→ After the test drive, check the gap dimensions again and re-adjust if necessary.

  1. Adjust gap dimensions.
    1. 1.1. Close the lid.
    2. 1.2. Check gap dimensions at the lid. → 5000IN DIAGRAM - BODY GAP DIMENSIONS
    3. 1.3. Remove rear apron if necessary, loosen fastening nuts -1-  and -3-  , and adjust gap dimensions by moving the rear retaining strip -2-  and the retaining bracket -4-  . → Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

  2. Check gap dimensions of tailpipe with respect to rear apron and adjust tailpipe if necessary. → Subsequent Work 

    Information 

    • Only for vehicles with externally fitted spare wheel. 
  3. Install spare wheel mount.
  4. Install tail lights → 943119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TAIL LIGHTS
