Removing Rear Wheel Housing: Notes

Information 

• All straightening work on the body in the connection area of the sheetmetal parts to be replaced must be completed before the damaged parts are removed  .

1. Remove rear side section. → Removing Rear Side Panel 
2. Remove outer side member. → Removing Outer Lower Side Member
3. Separate welded joints for C-pillar reinforcement and inner door sill.
   1. 3.1. Mill off the welded joints in area -A-  using a spotweld cutter.

4. Separate welded joints for inner wheel housing.

   Information 

   • The welded joints must be ground off using a parting grinder - starting with the exterior of the vehicle. The inner wheel housing must not be damaged while doing so. 
   1. 4.1. Grind off the welded joints in area -B-  using a parting grinder.

5. Separate welded joints for inner wheel housing.
   1. 5.1. Mill off the welded joints in area -C-  using a spotweld cutter.

6. Separate welded joints for D-pillar reinforcement.
   1. 6.1. Grind off the welded joints in area -D-  using a parting grinder.

7. Separate welded joints for floorpan.
   1. 7.1. Mill off the welded joints in area -E-  using a spotweld cutter.

8. Remove wheel housing.
