Installing Front Seat Frame

WARNING:
Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
→ Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
→ Observe specified tightening torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.
WARNING:
Incorrect information for the AWS control unit
- Passenger's airbag is triggered incorrectly
→ Calibrate the AWS control unit if the passenger's seat was removed and re-installed, or if the seat bracket or AWS control unit was replaced.
→ Do not loosen the safety screws on the AWS sensors or seat frame.
→ Only replace retainer plate for seat adjustment motor on vehicles without AWS sensors.
→ Always replace the retainer plate together with the seat frame on vehicles with an AWS sensor.
Information
Calibration applies only for vehicles of MY '06 with country equipment (USA, Canada, Mexico).
- Place front seat frame into position.
- Screw in rear fastening screws -2- .
- Screw in front fastening screws -1- .
- Tighten fastening screws -1 and 2- to the specified tightening torque. → Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 ft lbs.) .
- Position compressor connection -1- and tighten fastening screw -2- to the specified tightening torque. → Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ft lbs.)
- Clip in the two caps -arrows- .
- Insert side trim -arrow A- .
- Clip front seat trim to the front of the seat frame and to the side trim -arrow B- until it engages securely.
- Press the front seat trim down -arrow C- until the locking hooks engage securely on the seat frame.
