Removing Pyrotechnical Cutoff Relay

- Risk of burns
- Risk of short circuit or fire.
→ Disconnect the battery.
→ Prevent battery from reconnecting.
→ Cover the battery.
→ Remove ground terminal and cover the terminals.
→ Route electric lines without tensile strength.
→ Secure electric lines to existing lines/components.
- Move front left seat back and up as far as possible. Move backrest fully forward.
- Disengage front trim panel at the rear -arrow A- , then unclip it by pulling it forward -arrow B- .
- Unclip the right and left carpet cover -arrows- .
- Unscrew the two fastening screws -1- .
- Fold the seat back as far as possible -arrow A- . With the seat in its folded position, move the seat forward again using the fore-and-aft adjustment -arrow B- .
- Fold carpeted floor forwards -arrow A- . Unscrew fastening nut -1- from the battery ground strap on the body and remove the ground strap from the stud -arrow B- .
- Route or isolate ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier (e.g. body, seat frame) is avoided.
Information
- Only for vehicles with auxiliary battery
- Release the cover -arrows A- and open it -arrow B- .
- Screw off the fastening nut -arrow 3- and remove the line for the auxiliary battery -arrow C- .
- Unclip the power distributor cover using a screwdriver -arrow a- .
- Carefully prise out the locking mechanism on the electric connector -1- with a screwdriver -arrow a- and pull the connector out of the cutoff relay -2- .
- Screw off the two fastening nuts -3- on the cutoff relay -2- and remove the cutoff relay.
