Installing Hydraulic Tappets

  1. Assemble hydraulic tappet, rocker arm and safety clip.
    1. 1.1. Make sure that the hydraulic tappet and rocker arm are joined correctly with the safety clips -1 and 2-  .

  2. Oil the components. Install hydraulic tappet and rocker arm. Make sure that the safety clip does not slip out of place during installation.
    1. 2.1. The pressure face of the rocker arm -3-  must be positioned on the valve pressure face. This can slip out of place during subsequent installation of the camshaft.

  1. Oil the hydraulic tappets with engine oil and insert them into the cylinder head.
