WM 477619 Removing And Installing V6 Vacuum Pump (Mechanically) (Cayenne Tip, Cayenne Man): Removal: Removing

For easier access, unclip the electric lines behind the vacuum pump and carefully move them aside.
Carefully move the coolant hoses behind the vacuum pump aside using a wooden block (shop-made).

Give the vacuum line -1- a strong pull, to pull it off.
Loosen the three screws -arrows- on the vacuum pump -2- . Pay attention to the position of the screws when doing this (screw length!). The screw at the top right in direction of travel is short, the other two screws are long.

- When you remove the V6 vacuum pump, the sealing ring can remain on the drive shaft at the engine side. If this happens, the sealing ring must be removed from the drive shaft and inserted into the rotor of the vacuum pump at the correct position at the lower edge of the chamfer -1- .

Information
- When removing the V6 vacuum pump, always check that the rotor of the vacuum pump is not twisted when taking it out. Mark the position of the rotor immediately after removal with a marker, for example -arrows- !

Remove the vacuum pump carefully by pulling it to the rear.
