Installing Pneumatic Spring For Rear Lid

  1. Secure rear lid against accidental closure.
  2. Position safety clips of pneumatic spring for rear lid -4-  at ball sockets and snap into place.

  3. Press pneumatic spring for rear lid -4-  onto the ball heads until the safety clips are felt to engage.

  4. Fit new cover.
    1. 4.1. Position cover -3-  at the front, bend out slightly and insert into the opening at the back.
    2. 4.2. Press cover down all the way round until the butyl seal of the cover is touching the body evenly.
    3. 4.3. Check that the cover makes contact all the way round and is not bending inwards.

  5. Position and clip in deformation element -1-  .

  6. Screw in and tighten fastening screws -2- → Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ft lbs.).
