Installing Lower Part Of Rear Lock (Vehicles With Closing Aid)

- Check gap dimensions of rear lid and adjust if necessary. → Adjusting Rear Lid
- Install lower part of rear lock.
- 2.1. Position lower part of rear lock -2- in line with the markings -arrow- .
- 2.2. Screw in fastening screws -1- and tighten slightly.
- 2.3. Close the rear lid with slight pressure by pressing on the centre (handle area) until it engages in the first notch of the lower part of the rear lock -2- and check that the lower part of the rear lock engages correctly in the upper part of the lock.
- 2.4. Adjust the lower part of the rear lock -2- in line with the upper part of the lock.
- 2.5. Tighten fastening screws -1- . → Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6.0 ft lbs.)+/-0.8 Nm (+/-0.5 ft lbs.)
- Press in connector -1- on lower part of rear lock -2- (-arrow-) until the connector -1- locks with an audible click.
- Check closing force of lower part of lock.
- 4.1. Close the rear lid with slight pressure by pressing on the centre (handle area) until it engages in the first notch of the lower part of the rear lock. Then press it slowly into the second notch.
- 4.2. Check closing force of lower part of rear lock and re-adjust it if necessary by loosening the fastening screws.

- Position plastic foam -1- on the lock support -arrow- .
