Installing Front Anti-Roll Bar (PDCC)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Porsche Cayenne, 2009 Porsche Cayenne, and 2008 Porsche Cayenne. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:
Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly
- Risk of squashing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
- Mount the halves of the anti-roll-bar mount at the correct position for installation on the anti-roll bar →
see Fig 2.
- At the correct position means the larger outer diameter is on the wheel side and the locking lugs are joined together correctly -arrows- .
- Observe the installation position (arrow) -arrow- of the anti-roll-bar mount halves with respect to the anti-roll bar.
- Engage at the prescribed take-up points -arrow-
.
Information
- Visually inspect all parts.
- Replace self-locking nuts.
- Replace all expansion screws (screws which are fitted with torque angle tightening procedure).
- The entire threaded parts of the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle standing on the wheels, or the wheel suspension is being raised with a universal vehicle lift. Dimension -X- , from lower edge of wing to middle of axle 502 mm ±10 mm corresponds to vehicle position.
- Use an intermediate layer (hard rubber)! Do not damage the brake cover plate.
- Observe correct tightening torques → Tightening torques for front axle.
- Position anti-roll bar and fit clamps and the four fastening screws in vehicle position.
- Fit the four anti-roll bar fastening screws.
- Fit the two steel flexi-pipes. The markings must be aligned precisely during installation .
- Fit the connecting links.
- Following assembly, check carefully once again that the steel flexi-pipes are not twisted! The toothed rings -arrows- must be positioned on the steel flexi-pipes in such a way that they provide adequate protection in the event of contact with adjacent components.
