Installing Passenger's Airbag Unit

Information 

If a new component (e.g. sensor, airbag control unit, airbag unit) of the airbag system has to be installed, the new component will be supplied with a barcode sticker (tear-off label).

  1. Position airbag unit on the dashboard, fit and tighten the fastening screws -arrows B-  and -Arrows A-  by hand.

    Information 

    Always replace the fastening screws and nuts after customer service and reworking. The micro-self-locking screws must not be treated, greased or loosened and then screwed on again.

  2. First tighten the fastening screws -arrows B-  on the dashboard, then the fastening screws -Arrows A-  on the assembly tube. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.)

  3. Insert connector -arrow A-  until the lock -arrow B-  engages securely.
