Installing Passenger's Airbag Unit

Information

If a new component (e.g. sensor, airbag control unit, airbag unit) of the airbag system has to be installed, the new component will be supplied with a barcode sticker (tear-off label).

Tear off the tear-off label -2- on the new component -1- and stick it in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet under the heading Proof of airbag system check/component replacement.

The replacement date and current mileage must be documented and the booklet must be stamped with the Centre's stamp.

Position airbag unit on the dashboard, fit and tighten the fastening screws -arrows B- and -Arrows A- by hand.

Information

Always replace the fastening screws and nuts after customer service and reworking. The micro-self-locking screws must not be treated, greased or loosened and then screwed on again.
First tighten the fastening screws -arrows B- on the dashboard, then the fastening screws -Arrows A- on the assembly tube. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.)

Insert connector -arrow A- until the lock -arrow B- engages securely.
