Information On PDCC Fluid Level

Information 

Only Pentosin CHF 202 may be used in the reservoir. Pentosin CHF 202 can be ordered under the following part number: Quantity supplied 1 litre = 000.043.203.33.

A dipstick with a -MAX-MIN marking-  is fitted on the reservoir lid (steering hydraulics dipstick shown here). The markings are for a fluid level on a cold engine (approx. 20 °C).

The MAX marking can be easily exceeded at higher fluid temperatures!

Even small leaks can cause the fluid to escape and damage the tandem pump as a result of the high oil pressure in the hydraulic circuit.

A low fluid level, lots of air bubbles and/or any major degree of foam formation in the reservoir indicate a leak in the system. Visually check the system for leaks.

Before filling the reservoir, any existing leaks must be eliminated. In this case, the oil level in the reservoir must be checked when the engine is running and when it is stopped! If the oil level drops to the bottom of the reservoir or if lots of air bubbles rise up, then there is air in the hydraulic system. It is quite normal for a few air bubbles to appear in the reservoir immediately after topping up or following repair work - this is not a fault.
