Disassembling Side Step (Skidpad)

  1. Press spacer insert -1-  out of the step -2-  (-arrow-  ).

  2. Pull front end piece -1-  off the step -2-  (-arrow-  ).

  3. Pull spacers -1-  off the step -2-  (-arrow-  ).

  4. Pull seal -1-  out of the step -2-  (-arrow-  ).

  5. Remove front impact protection cover.

    1. 5.1. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  (-arrow-  ).
    2. 5.2. Press pin through and pull off plastic expansion rivet -2-  .
    3. 5.3. Drill out blind rivets -1-  and drive them through using an impact mandrel -arrow-

    4. 5.4. Tap out locking pins -1-  using side cutters and a hammer -arrow A-  .

    5. 5.5. Pull front impact protection cover -2-  out of the step -3-  (-arrow B-  ).
  6. Remove rear impact protection cover.

    1. 6.1. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  (-arrow-  ).
    2. 6.2. Press pin through and pull off plastic expansion rivet -2-  .
    3. 6.3. Drill out blind rivets -1-  and drive them through using an impact mandrel.

    4. 6.4. Tap out locking pins -1-  using side cutters and a hammer -arrow A-  .

    5. 6.5. Unscrew fastening screw -2-  .
    6. 6.6. Pull rear impact protection cover -3-  out of the step -4-  (-arrow B-  ).
  7. Starting at the ends, pull outer protective strip -1-  out of the step -2-  (-arrows-  ).

  8. Starting at the ends, pull upper protective strips -1-  out of the step -2-  (-arrows-  ).
