Removing Battery Disconnect Switch

WARNING: Danger of accidental identification and rendering null and void of general certification of the vehicle is null and void while a battery disconnect switch is installed.
  • The entire electrical system is disconnected from the battery when the battery disconnect switch is operated.
  • The vehicle no longer corresponds to the certified status.

→ The battery disconnect switch must be removed.

→ Observe the country-specific legal regulations; if necessary, consult the importer concerned.

Information 

The battery must be fully charged before handing over to the customer.

  1. Move the front left seat all the way back and to its upper end position.
  2. Switch off all electrical loads and remove the ignition key.
  3. Pull carpet lining forwards.

    Information 

    • The battery is disconnected from the vehicle electrical system when the red operating lever of the battery disconnect switch is turned anti.clockwise. 
  4. Turn the red operating lever of the battery disconnect switch anti-clockwise.
  5. Unscrew fastening nut on ground strap. → REMOVING BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH 
  6. Remove ground strap and isolate it with a cloth or similar.
  7. Unscrew the fastening nut on the disconnect switch and remove the disconnect switch.
