Removing Battery Disconnect Switch

WARNING:
Danger of accidental identification and rendering null and void of general certification of the vehicle is null and void while a battery disconnect switch is installed.
- The entire electrical system is disconnected from the battery when the battery disconnect switch is operated.
- The vehicle no longer corresponds to the certified status.
→ The battery disconnect switch must be removed.
→ Observe the country-specific legal regulations; if necessary, consult the importer concerned.

- Cayenne vehicles are delivered with a factory-fitted and country specific battery disconnect switch to protect the vehicle battery while it is being transported.
- The disconnect switch is located in front of the battery under the driver's seat.
- More detailed information on what to do with the disconnect switch after removal will follow in a separate instruction.

The battery must be fully charged before handing over to the customer.

- Move the front left seat all the way back and to its upper end position.
- Switch off all electrical loads and remove the ignition key.
- Pull carpet lining forwards.

- The battery is disconnected from the vehicle electrical system when the red operating lever of the battery disconnect switch is turned anti.clockwise.
- Turn the red operating lever of the battery disconnect switch anti-clockwise.
- Unscrew fastening nut on ground strap. → REMOVING BATTERY DISCONNECT SWITCH
- Remove ground strap and isolate it with a cloth or similar.
- Unscrew the fastening nut on the disconnect switch and remove the disconnect switch.
