Loosening And Securing Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV Line) (Includes Replacing Sealing Rings)

  1. Loosen the clamp. To do this, remove nut (difficult to access in vehicle). -1-

    1. Hexagon nut, M6 → Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (5.0 ft lbs.) 
    2. Holding clamp
    3. Screw, M6 x 12 → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.) 
  2. Remove screw on the crankcase -2-  and remove screw on the timing-case cover. Loosen the line. Pull line out of the crankcase. Replace sealing rings.

    1. Ventilation pipe with sealing ring → Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ft lbs.) 
    2. Screw, M6 x 12 → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.)

  3. Move line with new sealing rings back into installation position.
  4. Secure clamp with nut.
  5. Tighten screw on the timing-case cover and on the crankcase.
