Installing Battery

- Risk of contact with caustic fluid Position the battery in the battery case below the stops, if at all possible without tilting it.
- Position the battery mount and tighten with the fastening screw. → Tightening torque: 17.5 ftlb.
- Position the sheetmetal bracket and secure it with the fastening screw. → Tightening torque: 6 ftlb.
- Insert the vent hose on the battery.
Information
- Make sure that the two ends of the vent hose are routed and inserted correctly.
- Risk of short circuit! First connect the positive cable -3- , then the negative cable -2- . → Tightening torque: 5 Nm
- Replace the battery box cover carefully. The cover must be mounted properly.
- Attach the four tension hooks on the battery case cover and close using the screwdriver.WARNING: Incorrect handling of safety bolts

- Loss of torque
→ Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
→ Observe specified tightening torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.
- Move the seat in its folded position towards the rear -Arrow A- and then tip forward -Arrow B- .
- Screw in fastening screws -1- . → Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 ftlb.)
- Clip in front seat trim -C- .
