Preliminary Work

Information 

No loads (e.g. opening doors, switching on light/radio, etc.) may be activated while the vehicle is jacked up and raised on the lifting platform.

The time is long enough for the battery to rest for a few minutes.

Information 

Before checking the battery with a battery tester, the voltage at the battery must remain static for a short time.

The described sequence must be followed to ensure this rest period is observed.

1. Switch off all loads and remove ignition key.
2. Park the vehicle on the lifting platform.
3. Switch off lights, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
4. Move front left seat back and up as far as possible. Move backrest fully forward.
5. Disengage front trim panel at the rear -Arrow A-  , then unclip it by pulling it forward -Arrow B-  .

6. Unclip the right and left carpet trim -Arrows-  .

7. Unscrew the two fastening screws -1-  .

8. Fold the seat back as far as possible -Arrow A-  . With the seat folded, move it forward again using fore/aft adjustment -Arrow B-  .
9. Open the four tension hooks on the battery box cover using a screwdriver.

10. Unclip wire harness for seat at the battery box.
11. Remove battery box cover with vent duct.
