Creating Vehicle Analysis Log (Val)

When creating the FAP, it is essential to guarantee the power supply for the Porsche System Tester. A battery charger with a current rating of at least 40 A must be connected to the vehicle battery.
The Porsche System Tester instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy, these are the instructions that must be followed. Deviations may occur with later software versions.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different text or additions may appear in the Porsche System Tester.
- PIWIS Tester 9718 must be connected to the vehicle before starting the Tester.
- Select "Diagnosis".
- Select vehicle type.
- Select "Protocols" by pressing [F5].
- Start creating the VAL by pressing "Start" [F8]. (VAL is created).
- Check the chassis number and correct it if necessary.
- If you intend to forward/send the data, press [F7] to continue.
- If you want to print the data, connect the printer to the PIWIS Tester 9718.
- Switch on the printer.
- [#] button at the right of the PIWIS Tester 9718 must now be pressed.
- Press "psc" on the keypad that appears.
- Select "Vehicle analysis log" in the background.
- Press [>>] to continue.
- Select the VAL for the relevant/required vehicle.
- Press [>>] to continue.
- The VAL is displayed.
- Select "Print" to print the VAL.
- Shut down the Tester, switch it off and disconnect it from the vehicle.
