Removing Cover For 1/3-Split Folding Rear Backrest

  1. Unclip rear trim panel at the top -1-  at the retaining clips -2-  .

  2. Disconnect electric plug connection for 1/3-split folding rear backrest.

    1. 2.1. Release electric plug connection -1-  for wire harness for seat heating -a-  and pull it off -A-  .
    2. 2.2. Release electric plug connection -2-  for seat heating connection point -b-  and pull it off -B-  .
    3. 2.3. Release electric plug connection -3-  on wire harness for side airbag -c-  and pull it off -C-  .
    4. 2.4. Unclip the holder -4-  at the seat frame -5-  .
  3. Unclip electric wire harness -1-  for the seat backrest at the brackets -2-  .

  4. Loosen Velcro fasteners -1, 3-  at the bottom of the backrest cover -2- (-A-)  .

  5. Insert a suitable tool -1-  into the gap -2-  at the bottom of the backrest frame and carefully lever out the backrest cover piping -3-  over the entire length of the backrest.

  6. Carefully slide the backrest cover -1-  forward over the covers -2-  on the headrest support.

  7. Unscrew fastening screw -4-  on side airbag -2-  .

  8. Slide the side airbag holder -1-  up and take it out of the guide -3-  .
  9. Loosen the fastenings -1-  securing the cover to the side airbag holder -2-  at the front and rear.

  10. Remove backrest cover.
    1. 10.1. Cut the cushion clips -2-  using a suitable tool, e.g. side cutters. → Cutting cushion clips

    2. 10.2. Cut open the cushion clips in the specified sequence -1-4-  from the outside in.

    3. 10.3. Slide the outside of the backrest cover over the padding mount -A-  .
    4. 10.4. Remove the backrest cover from the padding mount -B-  .
    5. 10.5. Remove the remaining pieces of the cushion clips.
