Installing Evaporator (Chiller)

WARNING: Refrigerant
  • Danger of freezing

→ Avoid contact with refrigerant.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Observe the safety regulations for working on air-conditioned vehicles and dealing with refrigerant.

→ Observe the safety regulations for extraction and filling systems.

→ Observe the instructions for repairing air conditioning systems and storing spare parts.

Information 

  1. Installation is performed in reverse order.
  2. Check that the spring band clamps -1-  are fitted correctly on the coolant hoses.

  3. Tighten fastening nuts on the decoupling element for the evaporator to the prescribed tightening torque. Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.) 
  4. Tighten fastening screw used to secure the expansion valve to the evaporator to the prescribed tightening torque. Tightening torque 5.5 Nm (4 ftlb.) 
  5. Tighten fastening screw used to secure the refrigerant line to the expansion valve to the prescribed tightening torque. Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.)
