Installing Rear Door Sub-Frame

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2018 Porsche Cayenne, 2017 Porsche Cayenne, 2016 Porsche Cayenne, 2015 Porsche Cayenne, and 2014 Porsche Cayenne. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install door sub-frame.
    1. 1.1. Push wiring harness through the vehicle door to the B-pillar.
    2. 1.2. Guide in door lock with mounting bracket -arrow A-  and move door sub-frame into installation position.
    3. 1.3. Position inner part of door handle.

      1. 1.3.1. Guide locking hooks of inner part of door handle through the door aperture and press inner part of door handle forward -arrows-  .
    4. 1.4. Fit clips from the door sub-frame -8-  to the vehicle door and turn them by 90°.
    5. 1.5. Screw in fastening screws on window lifter -7-  and tighten to Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)  .

    6. 1.6. Screw in fastening screws -2-  on the door lock and tighten to Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)  .

    7. 1.7. Replace fabric tape -5-  and affix over the holes.

  2. Secure the door window.
    1. 2.1. Guide the door window into the mounting pieces and check that the window is parallel at the window guide in the B-pillar area.
    2. 2.2. Tighten fastening screws on the mounting pieces -4-  to Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.) , working from the left  .

    3. 2.3. Insert stoppers -3-  .

  3. Connect electric plug connection -1-  between the body and doors.
    1. 3.1. Plug in electric plug connection -1-  .
    2. 3.2. Twist retaining bar -2-  up by 90° -B-  .
    3. 3.3. Pull rubber sleeve for the wiring harness at the B-pillar over the electric plug connection and clip it in.
