Removing Rear Door Lock

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment. 
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant. 
• Some steps must be carried out automatically. 
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 

1. Unclip mounting bracket for door lock from the door sub-frame.
2. Release electric plug connection -1-  and disconnect connector.

3. Disengage bowden cable in the door lock from the door lock to the inner part of the door handle.
   1. 3.1. Release bowden cable bracket -3-  (-a-  ) and unclip it -A-  .
   2. 3.2. Turn bowden cable bracket by 90° -B-  and disengage the catch -4-  .

4. Disengage bowden cable for inner actuating mechanism on the door lock. → Removing Inner Actuating Mechanism For Door Lock 
5. On vehicles with Softclose (closing aid) 
6. Remove cover on Softclose motor -1-  using a suitable tool.

7. Pull rubber sleeve for bowden cable -1-  out of the lower cover.
   1. 7.1. Release locking lug -2-  and unclip clip from the guide.

8. Guide out bowden cable -1-  and disengage it.

9. Remove door lock.
